Class DescriptionSRV Chinese School Math Olympiads / MATHCOUNTS program includes four levels of math classes. A pre-test is recommended to enroll.The purpose of the classes is to stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm for problem solving. Students will be exposed to challenging problems, interesting puzzles, and associated mathematics topics. They will work on past contest problems both individually and in groups. Throughout the class, the student will learn critical thinking skills and different problem solving strategies. Math Olympiads level 1 class is designed for 4rd-5th grade students.It is an introductory class to creative math problem solving that uses recreational mathematics (math puzzles, math games and math contests) to engage students in fun activities involving challenging mathematics problems.In the process of explorations on these activities, students will learn a wide variety of mathematical concepts and enhance their creative problem solving abilities. Students will also given opportunity to take part in one or more national mathematics competitions.
