Python is becoming the most popular first programming language for high school and college students. MIT adopted Python as the first programming language several years ago. Python is simple, easy to learn and great for beginners. Python code is often 3-5 times shorter than Java and 5-10 times shorter than C++. Python is an open source and platform independent programming language. It has over 4,000 libraries in data sciences, web development, imaging processing and game development. There are millions of Python programmers who support each other. The powerful Python language and enormous valuable resources all come for free.

This course will teach students how to install Python development environment, and expose students to powerful features and enormous Python programming resources. In addition to learn basic Python language elements, students will have opportunities to learn hands-on coding skills and complete Python programming projects in data sciences and web applications.
