Class DescriptionSRV Chinese School Math Olympiads / MATHCOUNTS program includes four levels of math classes. A pre-test or teacher's recommendationis required to enroll.The purpose of the classes is to stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm for problem solving. Students will be exposed to challenging problems, interesting puzzles, and associated mathematics topics. They will work on past contest problems both individually and in groups. Throughout the class, the student will learn critical thinking skills and different problem solving strategies. In these classes, we offer MOEMS. The students will participate in the annual National Math Olympiad Contests. Individual awards will be given out in May, including the Dr. George Lenchner Award for perfect scorers and the Math Olympiads Logo Trophies for the top scorers on each team. Math Olympiads level 2 class is designed for 5th-6th grade students. In this class, the students will learn more advanced topics and problem solving strategies, such as Pattern and Sum, Factor and Prime, Divisibility Theorems, Geometry and Measurement, Cryptarithms, Use Logical Reasoning, Working with Exponents, Writing an Equation, etc. This class's curriculum corresponds to the material of the National Math Olympiad Division E Contests.
