Class Description

Estimate: 20 lessons for whole school year (Gym is not available on Jan and Feb)

Please be noted each paricipating kid is required to to purchase one white T-shirt (Wulfric T-Shirt) for attending the class ($15). The T-Shirt sign sheet is available on the 1st day of class.

This basketball class provides the basic skills of playing basketball for kids at entry level or intermediate level. The class is designed to emphasize fundamental skills such as ball handling, passing, dribbling, footwork, shooting, and rebounding. We also stress teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and enjoyment of a basketball game. After this class, students should be able to understand all the basics of basketball.

The intermediate class is determined by the coatch during the classs session. The two classes( beginner and internediate) will share the same warm-up session and the fundamental learning (about 15 min). Then we will split into two classes - one coach one class.

•Regular Warm-up ( ~ 5 min)
                -making your body ready
•Fundamental 1 (10 ~ 15 min) –teaching body position, and hands and feet co-ordinations
•Social Games (5 ~ 10 min) –having some funs with basketball balls
•Fundamental 2 (10 ~ 15 min) –teaching dribble, pass and shot
•3-on-3 Game (10 ~ 15 min) –developing team-passing and team-defense, dribble and shot under pressure and rebound skills

About the coach:
• Dr. Kevin J. Zhang, a silicon-valley fiber-optic engineer with 5-years Basketball teaching experience and a trained member of NYSCA.
• He played “professional” basketball in mid-70s in China;  As a captain and played as a point guard he led his University Basketball Team won the State Championships three years consecutively
• "Basketball is not only a physical intensive and mental hardship game, but it also exercise your brain work and social skill. It reflects a real life! I want to teach the younger generation that all they have to do is to aim high, work hard, and never give up."
